Around her hair she wore a yellow ribbon...

Driving home today I saw a lot of people putting up flags and putting up yellow ribbons all over Eagle Mountain, it reminded me of the day we tied our yellow ribbons around our tree in the front yard for my dad to return from Desert Storm. I thought back to all the things that happened while he was gone, my mom took us to little things the national Guard had set up and we would go with a girl named Tammy and her baby. I remember the day my dad came back and the parade he got to march in. I was so excited he was safe and that I could get baptised and not have to wait longer for him to get home. It reminded me of the song my dad used to always sing to us:

"Around her hair she wore a yellow ribbon, she wore a yellow ribbon in the very month of May. And if you ask her why she wore that ribbon she wore it for her soldier who was far far away. Far Away.... Far Away..... she wore it for her soldier who was far, far away!" I sing it to my kids now too, I think Scott my brother really enjoyed that song the best.

I didn't know your dad went to Desert Storm, I bet that was hard for you family. But what a cool thing to be able to tell your kids! Also I can't believe Hannah is going to be in Kindergarten! How crazy is that? I know i am going to be freaking out when Mitchell has to go to school.
